{"id":171,"date":"2020-07-20T22:36:01","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T19:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yusuferadam.com\/?page_id=171"},"modified":"2020-12-28T13:03:32","modified_gmt":"2020-12-28T10:03:32","slug":"brief-bio","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/yusuferadam.com\/?page_id=171","title":{"rendered":"Brief Bio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>YUSUF ERADAM<br \/>\nBorn in 1954 in Bor, Ni\u011fde, a central Anatolian town very near the Hasan Mountain,<br \/>\nYusuf Eradam, a graduate of Dar\u00fc\u015f\u015fafaka, the most prestigious high school in Turkey, is<br \/>\none of the seven founders of American Studies Association of Turkey (ASAT,1988), is a<br \/>\npoet, essayist, awarded short-story writer, translator, photographer, theatre critic, editor,<br \/>\nand song-writer with a CD of his own songs. Full professor of English and American<br \/>\nLiteratures for 44 years now, Eradam has written 23 books (9 are translations including<br \/>\nand introducing to Turkey Sylvia Plath &#038; Paul Auster). He received his BA, MA &#038; PhD<br \/>\ndegrees from Hacettepe University, Ankara, and from The University of Edinburgh,<br \/>\nMoray House College of Education, Scotland. Eradam worked at various universities in<br \/>\nAnkara and Istanbul &#038; in the USA at UNLV &#038; SVSU as distinguished visiting professor.<br \/>\nHe founded and chaired departments of English and also translation studies at various<br \/>\nuniversities in Turkey and during the pandemic he decided to free himself to a more<br \/>\ncreative life resigning from higher education. At present he is working on ecocriticism<br \/>\nand creativity, on his theory of Ecological-Ecesis, and his first novel.
