YUSUF ERADAM
\nBorn in 1954 in Bor, Ni\u011fde, a central Anatolian town very near the Hasan Mountain,
\nYusuf Eradam, a graduate of Dar\u00fc\u015f\u015fafaka, the most prestigious high school in Turkey, is
\none of the seven founders of American Studies Association of Turkey (ASAT,1988), is a
\npoet, essayist, awarded short-story writer, translator, photographer, theatre critic, editor,
\nand song-writer with a CD of his own songs. Full professor of English and American
\nLiteratures for 44 years now, Eradam has written 23 books (9 are translations including
\nand introducing to Turkey Sylvia Plath & Paul Auster). He received his BA, MA & PhD
\ndegrees from Hacettepe University, Ankara, and from The University of Edinburgh,
\nMoray House College of Education, Scotland. Eradam worked at various universities in
\nAnkara and Istanbul & in the USA at UNLV & SVSU as distinguished visiting professor.
\nHe founded and chaired departments of English and also translation studies at various
\nuniversities in Turkey and during the pandemic he decided to free himself to a more
\ncreative life resigning from higher education. At present he is working on ecocriticism
\nand creativity, on his theory of Ecological-Ecesis, and his first novel. During the
\npandemic lockdown he has created a new form of self-expression turning intentionally
\nmis-taken photos into paintings, which he calls \u201cFaut\u2019Art.\u201d He travels and lives in Istanbul
\nwith his two cats, Raki & Sharab.
